Dan Johnson

Dan was born on September 1, 1956, in Charlotte, N.C. and was the son of Loretta Y. Johnson. He attended Garinger High School, class of 1974 and Central Piedmont Community College.

Dan enjoyed and cheered for the Atlanta Braves and UNC Tarheels. He also loved his schnauzer pups, Boz ,and Fred. Dan was a sales representative in the metal industry, where he met his wife, Jan. His career expanded for forty years before retiring in September of 2021 from Phoenix Metals.

Those who knew Dan, were touched and possibly were part of, his quick and witty humor. He was a “all around good guy”.

Dan was a loving Son, Spouse and Brother. He was preceded in death by his Father, William Jay Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Jan Johnson, his Mother, Loretta Johnson, siblings, Shelia J. Kirkpatrick (John), Glenn Johnson (Cindy), Alyce J. Alexander (Dennis), Brother in Law, Larry Welch (Jinny), four nieces, Mindy J. Franklin, Tracey K. Hayes, Nita J. Kirkpatrick, Jenna K. Howard, two nephews, Joshua Alexander, Justin Alexander and fourteen great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at McEwen Funeral Home in Mint Hill, N.C. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Dan will be deeply missed, but always remembered by all who knew and loved him.
