Don retired from FedEx after 28 years followed by IBM for 22 years. He loved flying, model airplanes, and visiting airports. He could look up to the sky and tell you exactly what plane was flying by.
He loved helping his neighbors, and never met a stranger. Don took pride in his yard, and even won yard of the month a few times. He and his wife, Linda, were very active in their neighborhood HOA with volunteering to fix up the clubhouse and opening and closing the pool in the summer.
Don had a passion for photography, he enjoyed living and traveling in Europe, his many trips to Canada, and Florida. His all time favorite place to visit in the early spring or late fall was Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda A. Norris of the home; daughters, Kimberly Clark (Greg) of Greenville, SC, Denise Parry (Jim) of Indian Trail, NC, and Ashley Norris (fiance Alex) of Indian Trail, NC; grandchildren, Madison Ruther (Brian), Allie Clark, Cameron Clark, Nathan Clark, Joshua Parry and Carson Parry; as well as, nephew Tony Beasley (Gina) of Florida.
Donald was predeceased by his parents, Mark and Inez Prevatt; and sister, Nancy Faircloth.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00PM at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Road Mint Hill, NC 28227.
