Mike attended Kenyon College in Ohio and Hahnemann University Medical College in Pennsylvania. He completed his training in Forensic Medicine at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Mike served as Director of Forensic Services for Mecklenburg County, North Carolina for 37 years until his retirement in 2023.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike found joy in traveling the national parks with his brother, John, where he especially loved capturing the beauty of the western landscapes through photography. He also enjoyed gardening, especially growing beautiful zinnias for his beloved wife, Pat, to whom he was married for 41 years.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Sutton; siblings, Joseph, Jr. (Ruth, deceased), Kevin (Haidee), Brian (Hildred), Dennis (Cindy), Martin (Karen), and Maureen; and his uncle, Kevin Conroy. He will also be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Joe, Ruth, Lauren, Sean, Taegh, Patrick, Bridget, Dan, Ryan, and Shane Sullivan.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eileen Sullivan; and a brother, John (Susan).
There will not be a service.
