In 1947, she graduated from Grimsley High School in Greensboro and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She married Perry J. Churchwell, Jr. on March 10, 1951. They were happily married for 48 years until his death in June 1999. Until her relocation in 2003 to Siler City, she faithfully attended Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Charlotte where she was a charter member. She retired from Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat Hospital after 39 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Perry Churchwell Jr.; and her sister, Bea Williams (Calvin).
She is survived by her nieces, nephew, great-niece, great-nephews, and her special companion these past years, Debbie Rancourt.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 6,2023 at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC.
