Helen Greene Couzens

Helen was born December 11, 1939 in Hartford, TN, the oldest daughter to Eulas and Mamie Ethel McGaha Greene. She graduated high school in Cosby, TN and then went on to a career in banking. During her career, she worked for People’s Bank, First Union, and retired from Wells Fargo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Couzens; two brothers, Bill Greene and Donnie Greene; and two sisters, Patricia Tolbert and Penny Greene.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Paula Couzens of Matthews; three brothers, R. C. Greene, John B. Greene, and Ronald Greene; seven sisters, Betty S. Watkins, Brenda Vines, Linda Conard, Cheryl Valentine, Paulette LeFluer, Darlene Houser, and Bridgette Henry; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, August 29, 2013 beginning at 1 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Buddy Pigg officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
