Hubert "Bill" Styles

Mr. Styles graduated from Clearmont High School and joined the US Navy in May 1953. He received an honorable discharge in May 1957. While in the Navy, he traveled the world, spending time in Japan, out to sea but spent most of his time in San Diego and San Francisco. He retired from Charlotte Transit in 2005.

Hubert enjoyed spending time with his family, especially being outdoors around the pool and at the beach. He loved watching football, basketball and NASCAR racing. Bill loved animals, his dogs, cats and the deer that roamed his property.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Buck Styles; sister, Helen Street; granddaughter, Tammy Johnson and son-in-law, Jody Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred Styles; five children, Ginger Johnson, Billy Styles (Denise), Robin Schadt, Gina Kirkland, Mickey Styles; 13 grandchildren, Creg Johnson, Angela Rushing, Joe Johnson, Keela Shoesmith, Jaclyn Leonard, Jason Crisco, Nicole Irwin (Chris), Amy Grant, Matthew Styles, Kristina Ruettgers (Nick), Hannah Ogburn (Stephen), Tyler Styles and Adam Schadt (Elaine); and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by three brothers and one sister, Herman Styles (Billie), Harmie Lampkin, Sam Styles (Dixie), John Styles (Shirley).

The family would like to thank all their friends for all the love and support during this difficult time.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
