

Jack Eudy, age 84, of Charlotte, North Carolina, died of heart failure on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center. He was born on August 14, 1931, in Albemarle, North Carolina to Lonnie and Mary (Tucker) Eudy, and was a 1949 graduate of Albemarle High School. Jack was a veteran of the Korean War, having served from 1952-54 in the U.S. Army. He worked for Overnite Trucking Company for 35 years, first as a diesel mechanic then as supervisor of the trailer shop at their Charlotte terminal. Jack was an avid golfer and loved all types of sports, especially Tarheel Basketball and Panther Football. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Reece Eudy, and sister, Modene Morton.
He is survived by his wife, Libby; their four children, Lisa (Bob) Kushner of Kernersville, North Carolina, Leslie Eudy (Mike Delaney) of Golden, Colorado, Lynn (Rick) Aydlett of Matthews, North Carolina, and Steven (Carrie) Eudy of Locust, North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Ricky Elmore, Laura Elmore, and Hunter Eudy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 6050 Hickory Grove Road in Charlotte. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, in the church’s Worship Center, with the Reverend John Harrill officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
