Jackie was born on October 1, 1932, in Canton, Illinois, to the late James and Florence Campbell. She graduated from Canton High School and later went on to attend Bradley University, earning a Masters degree in Education.
Jackie married the love of her life, Frank, and together, they had three children, Marcia, Dawn and Max.
Jackie was a proud resident of Washington, IL, for over 50 years and was awarded the Washingtonian Award in 2012 for her outstanding and dedicated service to the community. She spent her working career as a beloved educator teaching fourth grade in the Washington community. One of her teaching highlights was starting an outdoor education program for her 4th grade students. Civic-minded and active in the community, Jackie always supported nature and wildlife conservation groups. Upon retirement, she and Frank helped found WHIP, a community based food pantry, Washington Helps It's People. The volunteers at WHIP shared the following regarding Jackie, “She was a caring, energetic woman who saw the need and got things done with no nonsense. She will be missed by many and her legacy continues on to this day.” In addition to WHIP, Jackie also served on the library board for the Washington District Library for several years.
In her spare time, Jackie enjoyed backyard bird watching and reading a good book. She and Frank were also avid collectors of all types of Pepsi memorabilia, building quite a collection throughout their retirement years.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Francis "Frank" Clary and daughter, Marcia Miller.
Jacquelyn is survived by her children, Dawn (Gordon) Anderson and Max (Angie) Clary; Son-in-law John Miller; grandchildren, Erin (Nathan) Friedly, Michael (Moria) Miller, Zachary Clary, Taylor (Zoe Bader) Clary, Ella (Tadd) Meyer, Billie (Justin) Jones, Tracy (Jared) Russ, and Jaqi (Drew) Holloway; and her five great grandchildren.
