Jesse Eugene Ross Sr. "Gene"

His family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 24 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Latin American Campus, 6050 Hickory Grove Road, Charlotte, NC, with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. John Harrill and the Rev. Dr. Henry Ward will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Born May 10, 1937 in Charlotte, Mr. Ross was the son of the late Jesse Ross and Minnie Alease Ledbetter Ross. He retired in 1999 from Southeastern Metal Products after 44 years of service. Mr. Ross was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and the Friendly Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Frances, Joann, Patsy and Barbara.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joyce Rhodes Ross; two sons, Jesse Eugene Ross, Jr. of Albemarle and Martin Boyd Ross of New York, NY; a step-daughter, Penny Green of Asheville; a sister, Jackie Tipton of Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
