Joan Eileen Hamilton

She was born on June 27, 1943, in Mt. Morris, NY, to Jerry and Ruby Hall Garafola.

She was an administrative assistant at Diba Industries in Danbury, CT, for several years.

Mrs. Hamilton was a longtime resident of New Fairfield, CT, prior to retiring and residing in Charlotte in 2002 to be closer to her daughter and grandson.

She was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church in New Fairfield, CT, where she sang in the choir.

She was passionate about life, and her beloved family and friends. She will be dearly missed by many and will always remain in our hearts. She leaves behind her loving family, her daughter, Diane Hamilton, and her son, Brady Cooper, Charlotte; her son, Robert (Susan) Hamilton, New Fairfield, CT, and their three sons, Pierce, Carson, and Wesley Hamilton.

Her family will receive friends on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, from 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC, followed by her memorial mass. Reverend Patrick T. Hoare will be the celebrant.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12Noon on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in New Fairfield, CT.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Thomas Hamilton.
