

With deep love and gratitude, the family of Mr. Joseph Kenneth Edward Seasely, age 95, announces his peaceful passing on January 6, 2026, in Charlotte, NC. Formerly of Laurel, Maryland, Joseph lived a long, full life marked by devotion to family, service to his country, and pride in his work.
Born on July 23, 1930, Joseph graduated from William Penn Senior High School and continued his education through coursework at Columbia Technical Institute and Maryland University. He served honorably in the United States Air Force at Andrews Air Force Base from 1950 to 1954, a period of service he carried with quiet pride throughout his life.
Joseph was a dedicated and skilled engineering draftsman, spending three decades with the National Security Agency at Ft. Meade, Maryland, from March 1957 until his retirement in November 1987. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence defined his professional life.
A man of deep faith, Joseph was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband, a dependable father, and a loyal friend, known for his steady presence and generous spirit.
In his free time, Joseph found joy in sailing the Chesapeake Bay, woodworking, and especially cooking during the holidays. He will be remembered fondly for his chocolate chip cookies and homemade cranberry sauce, treats that became beloved traditions among family and friends.
Joseph’s life was rich with love, purpose, and simple joys. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Langenfelder, his son, R. Kevin Seasely and daughter-in-law, Bonnie; grandchildren, Megan Seasely Bender (husband Will) and Michael Seasely (wife Angela) and four great grandchildren, Tessa, Gracelyn, James and Alexa. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Eleanor Smith Seasely, who he married on February 9, 1952; his parents, Peter and Esther Seasely, and his infant child Kimberly Seasely.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, located at 8015 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28277. The service is scheduled for January 23, 2026, at 11:00 am.
Following the Funeral Mass, a Committal Service will take place at Oakdale Cemetery, 1500 N Main St, Mount Airy, NC 27030, on January 23, 2026, at 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph's honor to the Alzheimer's Disease Research.
