Judith Cathey Mitchell

Judith was a Concord High School graduate of 1960 and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Pfeiffer College in 1964. She used her degree to become a teacher until starting her own family and later returning as a teacher assistant at Devonshire Elementary. She attended Hickory Grove United Methodist Church and was a member of the Koinonia Sunday School Class. Judith loved history, learning, traveling, and the finer things in life. But most of all she loved her family dearly and would do anything in the world for them.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 53 years, David Mitchell.

Judith is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Stribling (Jeff); her granddaughter, Elizabeth Stribling; grandson, Johnathon Stribling; and many other loving extended family members.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, December 19, 2022 at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel and burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful loving care that Atrium Health Union West ICU provided to Judith over the last month of her life.
