Karen Reichert

Mrs. Reichert, age 69, died Monday, February 26, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center-Main. Born July 30, 1948 in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Brain and Geraldine Riley Brain. Mrs. Reichert earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a retired teacher of Hickory Grove Christian School after 25 years of dedicated service. Karen was a devout Christian and had a passion for shaping the minds and spirits of children. Before teaching at Hickory Grove Christian School, she volunteered at Hickory Grove Elementary teaching children with special needs. Karen also taught Sunday school and was a member of the church choir for a number of years. Her warm, loving, compassionate and understanding personality will be missed by all.

The service to celebrate Karen’s life will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. John Harrill, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Thursday at the church.

Survivors include three children, Lynne Davis, Steven Reichert and Jimmy Reichert; two siblings, Patricia Greiner and Kenneth Brain; and four grandchildren, Madison Davis, Maverick Reichert, Preston Reichert and CJ Reichert; and daughter-in-law, Miranda Reichert. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reichert was preceded in death by her husband, Charles.
