Karla Smith, 61, of Mint Hill, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at home. Karla spent much of her life in Mint Hill where she enjoyed volunteering at the Levine Center in Matthews and serving on the Advisory Council.
Karla was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Millie Gillespie. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ron Smith, her sons; Matt (Melissa) Smith and Chad (Semra) Smith, five grandchildren; Korey, Cooper, Cailey, Jack and Gwyneth, a sister, Kim (John) Newell, nieces and nephew; Misty (Rich) Owen, Keith Newell and Jennifer Newell and god children; Brayden, Madison, Kennady, Austyn, Seth and Samantha.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 11:00am at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd. Charlotte, NC 28227.
