Kim Lambie-Williams passed away peacefully on July 8th, 2022 at the age of 66 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loved ones. Kim was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1956. She was a lifelong student who attended Rio Hondo College and California State, Los Angeles University. She graduated with her bachelors in 1990.
While at Cal State, she was highly active in student and community leadership. On campus, she served as the associated student president, fighting for student’s rights and advocating for a rise in funding for low-income earthquake victims. Kim was also a leader on her speech team, earning several awards for her performances in poetry interpretations that illuminated African activists.
Kim dedicated her life to Christ and served as a member of gospel choir, music ministry, computer ministry, prayer ministry, bible study leadership, prison ministry, eGroup leadership and missionary.
Kim served as a missionary spreading the gospel, building homes and distributing medical supplies in countries: Cambodia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Haiti, Hong Kong, Malaya, Nicaragua, Philippians, Slovakia and Vietnam. She did not slow down during the pandemic, as a minister for the Lord she held several bible study sessions inviting souls to join all over the world.
Kim’s absence leaves a tremendous loss in the lives of family members and many dear friends. Kim will be fondly remembered as a mission leader, prayer warrior, educator, faithful daughter, caring grandma, loving cousin and ride or die friend. But we can’t forget she was a rock & roll loving, stiletto wearing, Mexican food eating, urban cowgirl from Brooklyn.
Kim is survived by her mother, Thelma Lambie, daughter, Zsa-Zsa, son in law, Jason Porter and their three children, Zyrina, Jason Jr. and Zion. She was preceded in death by her sister, Zsa-Zsa and father, Robert Lambie.
In loving memory of Kim, a memorial service will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 at 2:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
