

Lee passed away early on August 29, 2012. He was born in Mecklenburg County on June 6, 1930 to Annie Duncan Flowe and Oscar Lee Flowe, Sr. Lee graduated from Bain High School and attended NC State and Charlotte College. He married Nancy Freeman Flowe in 1951 and together they raised five children. During his career he worked at Chadbourn Gotham and retired from Thurston Motor Lines. However, his genuine passion was his farm. He greatly enjoyed gardening but nurturing his cattle was his true pleasure. Lee was a life long member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill, NC.
Lee was predeceased by his father and mother, a grandson Justin Campbell. his older sister, Emma Jean Flowe, and his brother-in-law William H. Bass, III. He is survived by his younger sister, Anne Flowe Bass and her children, Suzanne Bass Day and Greg Bass. Lee is survived by Nancy, his wife of 61 years, and their children, Libby Flowe Baucom (Gary), Marie Flowe-Dawson (John), Charles Flowe (Lynnell), Janet Flowe Earnhardt (Jim) and Mark Flowe. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, John Baucom (Tiffany), Jennifer Baucom Outen (Burt), Rachel Flowe LeCroy (Tim), Daniel Flowe (Aimee), Taylor Campbell, Heather Earnhardt Kiser (Michael) and Samuel Flowe; and seven great grandchildren, Jeffrey Cooper, Hannah and Laylon Baucom, Preston Ramsey, Caleb and Briana Outen, and Ruby Mae LeCroy.
Services will be held Saturday September 1, 2012 at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church beginning with a visitation at 11:00am followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon officiated by Reverend Lee Koontz. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Philadelphia Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
