Lilla Jane "Tillie" Jamison

Lilla Jane Jamison “Tillie”, 87, of Mint Hill, NC, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Union County on December 21, 2013. Tillie was born December 29, 1925 in Mecklenburg County to the late Martin L. Burnette, Sr. and Loma Helms Burnette. She graduated from Bain High School in 1945.

Tillie worked with her husband, the late Harry A Jamison, Sr., running a dairy farm and later the Mint Hill Cleaners for around 25 years. She was a member of Wilson Grove Baptist Church, and most important, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Tillie was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Jamison, Sr. She was also preceded in death by children, Harry Jamison, Jr., Linda Jamison, grandson, Mitchell Jamison (Mitch), and brothers and sisters, Harvey, Mary Louise, Selma, Hoyle, Don, Ben, George, Joe, Martin, Jr. (Bud) and Charles (Charlie).

She is survived by her children, Jack Jamison and his wife, Sandy, of Mint Hill, NC, and Lisa Tucker and her husband, Andy, of Charlotte, NC; and grandchildren, Paul Jamison, Jason Jamison, Trevor Jamison and Kalmia Tucker. She has one great-granddaughter, Nova Linda Jamison. Tillie is also survived by her brother, John Burnette of Charlotte, and two sisters, Martha Marrone of Matthews, NC, and Della Bynum (Gene) of Mt. Holly, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Mary Harris.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, December 26, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 27, at the funeral home chapel, followed by burial at Sunset Memory Gardens. Pastor Don Brooks will be officiating.
