

Linda Ann Bowden, 79, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. Born in Laurel, Mississippi, on March 25, 1946, Linda lived a life marked by creativity, compassion, and a deep love for family and community.
A proud graduate of R.H. Watkins High School (Class of 1963) and Jones County Junior College (Class of 1965), Linda carried her artistic spirit and generous heart through every chapter of her life. She was a devoted member of Lyme Congregational Church in Lyme, New Hampshire, where her faith and kindness touched many.
Linda’s love of travel led her and her family across the country and abroad, living in places such as Washington, D.C.; Indianapolis, IN; Castroville, TX; Biloxi, MS; Lyme, NH; and even Germany for seven years. Her journeys took her to France, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, England, and Scotland, enriching her life with culture and adventure.
She found joy in quilting, cooking, and exploring new places, but above all, Linda will be remembered for her unwavering generosity and her willingness to help others. Her warmth and loving nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband, Charles K. Bowden; her sons, Eric Charles Bowden (wife Evelyn Reyes) of Charlotte, and David Christopher Bowden of Vermont; and her cherished grandchildren, Courtney Celine of Portland, Oregon, and Calvin Charles of Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lyndsey Waldrup and Minnie Louise Nichols Waldrup, both of Laurel, Mississippi.
In honor of Linda’s memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, a cause close to her heart.
Her legacy of love, generosity, and artistic spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
