Linda Diane Dorton

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 11 AM to 12 PM at Mill Grove Methodist Church, 7311 Mill Grove Rd, Indian Trail, NC 28079. Funeral services will immediately follow. Linda will be laid to rest at Evergreen Burial Park, 11501 Bain School Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.

Linda was born in Mint Hill, NC on December 3,1950, to Sebie and Otis Dorton. She is survived by her sisters, Deloris Booth (Don), Irene Starnes (Charles); brother, Dwayne Dorton (Jane); nephew Kevin Spencer; niece Nicole Starnes.

Linda retired from St. Paul/Travelers Insurance after 40 years. She devoted her time to her family, friends and church. She loved to spoil her family with treats from the farmer’s markets.She spent many afternoons helping friends get to and from doctor’s appointments. She enjoyed being active in Mill Grove Methodist Church, where she helped in many ways including Tuesday’s Table, Joy Club, and keeping the food pantry stocked. She followed Jesus’ example throughout her life, and allowed her hands to work as His would.

She loved gardening and feeding birds. She loved to spoil her furry family members and was known to them for giving the best head scratches. She found joy in serving and loving others. Her gentleness, compassion, humor and love will be missed.

Her family would like to thank Atrium Hospice House in Monroe for their loving care. Memorials may be made to Atrium Hospice House in Monroe NC or Mill Grove Methodist Church in Indian Trail NC.
