Lydia Diaz, 91, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at her home in Charlotte, NC in the company of her loving family. She was born on December 31, 1930 in Puerto Rico. She was the daughter of the late Angel Ayala and Martina Losada.
She met the love of her life, Claudio Diaz, and then they made their trip to the USA where they made their home. The joy of Lydia's life was her family. They also enjoyed the local baseball team in Bridgeport, Connecticut. In recent years Lydia loved listening and watching DVDs of Marc Anthony - it made her so happy!
Lydia worked as a seamstress for many years until she retired early at 55 years old to take care of her husband. She then worked as a cook and also as an exterminator in her cousin's business.
Lydia is survived by her daughters, Lydia Esther Diaz and Annette Benjamin (Stacey L Benjamin); her sister, Juanita Ayala, and her other sisters and brothers, nieces, and nephews in Puerto Rico and Florida.
