Born December 8, 1924, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, Mrs. Hauss was a daughter of the late Carley Lee Thompson and Margaret Elizabeth Long Thompson. She retired as a hairdresser after many years of service. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hauss was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Hauss; son-in-law, Denny Johnson; brothers, John C. Thompson and Robert L. Thompson, Sr.; and sister, Bertha Honeycutt.
Services are private.
She is survived by her children, Dianne Whiteside (Jack), Betty Johnson and Jimmy Cooper (Jane); grandchildren, Scott Johnson and his children, Payton and Xander, Karen Jackish (Jeff) and their sons, Keegan and Aidan, Bobby Whiteside and his children, Marie and Nathaniel, and Rusty Whiteside.
