Maria Anna LoSasso

Ms. Maria "Nana" LoSasso, 90, of Matthews, NC, passed away May 27, 2013 with family, in the comfort of her home.

She was born on August 25, 1922, in Brooklyn, NY to her beloved parents, the late Mr. & Mrs. Santo & Elvira Tine. She married her late husband Mr. Joseph LoSasso, a U.S. Army Veteran in the European theatre, on July 9, 1944, and they celebrated fifty-five golden years together. Her Memorial Day passing was sweetly significant, honoring both her husband's service and her mother's birthday. She dedicated her career to St. John's Hospital in Queens, NY. A member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Charlotte, she loved saying the Rosary and was never lost with Saint Anthony by her side.

Survivors include daughters; Mrs. LoisAnn Pettway of Teaneck, NJ, Ms. Elaine Marie LoSasso of Matthews, Mrs. Joanne DiLuzio of Charlotte; Sons-in-Law, Mr. Winston Pettway of Teaneck, NJ; Mr. Mark DiLuzio of Charlotte; Grandchildren, Mrs. Jessica Jankowski of Indianapolis, IN; Mrs. Audra Cooper of Matthews; Ms. Hope Ann Pettway of Oakland, CA; Mr. Dustin DiLuzio of Charlotte; Grandson-in Law, Mr. Jason Magill of Indianapolis, IN and Jason Cooper of Matthews, NC; Great-Grandchild Miss Madison Cooper of Matthews; Sister, Mrs. Madeline Aziz of Matthews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd. Charlotte, NC 28227. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 31, 2013 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church 8451 Idlewild Rd Charlotte, NC 28227. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery.
