Marvin James Pegram

The family will receive friends Monday, November 26, 2018 at 10:00 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. The Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:30. Internment will be at Sharon Memorial Park.

Mr. Pegram was born in Belews Creek, NC to the late Paul and Mozelle Pegram. He graduated from Stokesdale High School in 1953. He entered the US Army in 1959 and served until 1962. He retired from Sears Roebuck and Company in 1991 with 38 years of service. He was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church where he was on various committees and enjoyed volunteering for the church.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley; son Harold Pegram of Matthews, daughter Cheryl Pegram of Midland and son Brian Pegram of Mint Hill; grandchildren Harrison Pegram, Taylor Pegram, Hannah Pegram; great grandchild Luna Pegram; sisters Nancy (Ray) Isley, Elaine Smith, Judy (Jerry) Smith, brother Mickey (Elaine) Pegram. He was predeceased by brother Alvin Pegram and sister Magdalene Stewart.

Marvin was a gentle, kind, sweet and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He truly had a servant’s heart and loved helping others.
