

With deep love and gratitude, the family of Mary Elizabeth (Pearson) Arven, age 75, announces her passing on January 18, 2026, in Indian Trail, NC. Mary’s life was defined by passion, generosity, and an unwavering determination that carried her through every chapter of her journey.
Born on March 14, 1950, Mary grew up in Sampson County, North Carolina, and graduated from Union High School. She continued her education at Mt. Olive College and Campbell University, building a foundation that supported her long and successful career. She retired from Ford Motor Company, where she was known for her dedication, strong work ethic, and loyalty.
Mary lived in many places throughout her life, including Clinton, NC; Matthews, NC, Pembroke Pines, FL; Indian Land, SC; before settling in Indian Trail, NC. No matter where she lived, she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
A true adventurer at heart, Mary found joy in traveling the world with her family and friends. She especially loved destinations that were warm, sunny, and near the ocean. Her travels took her to Hawaii, Greece, London, and Barbados—with Barbados holding a special place in her heart as her favorite.
Mary will be remembered most for her remarkable strength. She faced illness and loss with courage, grace, and a fighter’s spirit, never once faltering. Her generosity, loyalty, and steadfast love touched everyone who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience and devotion, along with countless contributions that will continue to shape the future of her family for generations to come.
Mary’s presence will be deeply missed, but her impact will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her
Mary is survived by her daughter, Valerie Suzanne Arven Dano (Rob); step-children, Parker Harvey, Lauren Harvey and their families; grandchildren, Evan Harrison Dano, Cody Jarrett Arven, Melanie Marie Dano, Brooklyn Paige Arven, and Ashley Nicole Arven; sister, Linda Pearson Hyatt (Jimmy); and nephews, Christopher Holland and Matthew Holland (Jessica). She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Janet Pearson, and son, Theodore Arven III.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the care teams at Novant Matthews ICU and Intermediate departments.
A Celebration of Life will be held at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, located at 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC, 28227. The service is scheduled for January 31, 2026, starting at 11:00 am. The family invites everyone to a reception following the service.
