Mary Louise Elkins

Born November 8, 1941 in Macon, Georgia, Mrs. Elkins was a daughter of the late James Ramsey Sims and Mary Emily Williams Sims. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, C.J. Elkins, and son, Tim Wainwright. As a single parent, Mrs. Elkins’ passion was in raising her six children and instilling her strong Christian faith in them.

She is survived her children, Teresa Zografos and husband, Theodore, Tonya Bramlett and husband, David Rhodes, Buddy Wainwright and wife, Suzanne, Trina Marie, Bo Wainwright and wife, Susan, and Brian Elkins and wife, Candy; her siblings, Joe Sims, Lisa Estes and Berta Ann Autry; and a special niece, Tammy Hudson and husband, Ernie. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tiffany Walling and husband, Johnathan, Katie Zografos, Amber Shields, Mikel Kelly Bramlett, Eric Bramlett and wife, Gina, Kyle Bramlett and wife, Charlotte, Casey McCachren and husband, Bryan, Kalee Wainwright, Nicole Plott and husband, Corey, Danielle Walker, Devin Walker, Joseph Wainwright and wife, Ashley, Jake Wainwright, Jackson Wainwright and wife, Kayla, Julia Wainwright; and her great-grandchildren, Jack, Fallon, Kylie, Khloe, Kennedi, Kingston, Ava Kay, Elijah, Hensley, Hudson, Mason, Mac, Kiptynn, Steel, Myles, Aleeah, Levi, Sawyer, and Paisley.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Friday, February 23, 2018, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Jeff Burris will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
