Mary Frances Starnes, 83, of Stallings, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 14, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 20, 1929 to the late Zeb and Lessie Dorton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reid Jr. Starnes and several siblings.
She was a homemaker, a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be truly missed by all that had the opportunity to know her. Heaven’s choir got one stronger. She was a member of Golden Acre Baptist Church.
She is survived by nine children, James Reid (Dickie), Jimmy, Larry, Dianne Helms, Billy, Martha Ancrum, Donnie, Libby and Jeffery; three sisters, Bonnie, Annie and Jackie; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
We would like to thank Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care, with special thanks to her nurse, Lynde Garmon.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 10:00am with a service to follow at 11:00am at Golden Acre Baptist Church with Bruce Pope officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Matthews.
