Matthew was born June 1, 1932 in New York City. Matt spent time in Europe following the Korean War with the U.S. Army. He returned to the states, received his degree from Manhattan College and soon thereafter married his beloved wife, Ann.
In 1963, Matt’s job took him to Cleveland, Ohio where he and Ann raised their four children. Matt and Ann were married for 58 years and they were heavily involved in St. Joseph & John Catholic Church in Strongsville, OH as well as many other charitable organizations. Matt loved his music and prayer ministry where, for 20 years, he shared his faith and time with many nursing home residents both in Strongsville as well as Charlotte, North Carolina. Matt made a point of saying hello and giving a smile to everyone he met and never failed to see the good in everyone.
Matt was preceded in death by Ann, his daughter, Christine and his sister, Mary. He is survived by his children, Matthew (Michele Macedonio), Dr. Nancy Sokany (John Gallucci), Geralyn Cunningham (Gerald) and Stephen (Matthew Katz). He was the dearest grandfather/granddaddy of Katherine Macedonio (Jim Smetana), Morgan, Colin, Anna, Danny and Michael and great grandfather of Jett and Fiore. Matt was also the uncle and great uncle of many nieces and nephews.
