May Auguste

She was born in Les Cayes, Haiti on December 24, 1934 to the late George and Murcy Benedict Moise.

May moved to the United States in 1954 and married her late husband, Turin Auguste, in 1956 in Les Cayes, Haiti. During their marriage they lived many places, including Queens, New York, and Boston, Massachusetts. They decided to move to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2003 after retiring. After her husband's passing in 2012, May moved to Monroe, North Carolina.

May had many hobbies. She loved baking, cooking, sewing and cake decorating. She also enjoyed dancing and lit up the room with her smile and laughter. May adored her children and was happy spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. She never met a stranger and was a loyal and loving friend to all.

She was a devoted Catholic throughout her life.

May is survived by her sons, Phillip Auguste and his spouse Semean Zeggai- Auguste, Turin Auguste Jr. and his wife Linda; her daughters, Saadia Auguste Dia and Myrtho Moise and her spouse Frantz Moise; grandchildren, Saadia Risher and spouse Neil, Kiyah Banks and spouse LaMonte, Kahlil Auguste, Amanda Christon, and Roman Moise and Gaston Moise; great-grandchildren, Sloan, Landen, Logan, and Liam Risher, Anilah, Junior, Amoni, Noel, Nad Tahj; sisters, Marlene Moise and Lucienne Edmond; sisters-in-laws: Gerta Gregoire and Mireille St Fort; many nieces and nephews and their families; Gary Mouscardy and spouse Wanda Mouscardy, Rudy Moise, Lesly Moise, Murcy Moise, Kevin Edmond, Martine Pierre, Myriam Moise, and Yvette Moise.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Raymond Moise and William Moise.

Our Condolences go to the families; Auguste, Moise, Zeggai, Simon, Risher, Christian, Bourjolly, Tassy, Augustin, Gregoire, Douyon, Voltaire and all others affected by this loss.

Family will receive friends Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM in the chapel. May will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227. Following the committal there will be a repass at CIFC Haitian Church, 2019 Shamrock Drive Charlotte, NC 28205.
