Michael Harold Sechler

Michael was born March 27th, 1950 in Kannapolis, NC to Harold Sechler and Margaret Sechler.

A dedicated husband, son, and father, Michael gave his time and energy towards helping others. During a career in customer service and over 20 years in scouting, he always had a listening ear, a good idea, and a story to tell. Fighting for his health until the end, he battled numerous ailments over which even his particular brand of stubbornness couldn’t prevail. His spirit, his tenacity, and his anecdotes will be sorely missed. He was a Tar Heel born, a Tar Heel bred, and now mercifully he’s a Tar Heel dead.

Michael is survived by his father, Harold Sechler of Kannapolis, NC; sister Julia Caudle (Terry) of Richfield, NC; nephew Kris Caudle (Danielle) of Asheville, NC; his son, Erich Sechler (Rebecca), of Charlotte, NC, and a grandson, expected in November 2021. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Sechler, and his wife, Carolyn Sechler.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 17th, 2021 at 10:00am at Blair Road United Methodist Church, 9135 Blair Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227. A celebration of life service will follow at Blair Road UMC at 11:00am.

Michael will be laid to rest next to his wife at Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove, NC.
