Mildred Vivian Carpenter Lutz

A daughter of the late John Eli Carpenter and Martha Turzin Carpenter, Mrs. Lutz was born July 20, 1924, in Uhrichsville, OH, and was raised in Brooklyn, NY. She was a private duty Registered Nurse for over 50 years. She was also a former Cub Scout den mother. Mrs. Lutz was an avid dancer and swimmer. She also loved to fish, sew, and play bingo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Everett Eddly Lutz, and her grandson, Christopher Sean Lutz.

She is survived by her two sons, Everett E. Lutz, Jr. and wife, Debby, of Mint Hill, NC, and John Lutz and wife, Susan, of Charlotte, NC; two grandsons, Jonathan Lutz of James Island, SC, and Thomas Everett Lutz of Charlotte, NC; and a great-granddaughter, Kyrra Shipman-Lutz of Columbia, SC.

Her family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, with her funeral service to follow at 3:00 in the funeral home chapel. The family will have a private interment in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
