

Mildred was born in Newport News, Virginia on March 5, 1922, and worked in the shipyard after graduating from high school. She was married to Samuel R. “Pete” Wilson for almost 61 years until his death in 2009. She and Pete moved to Glens Falls in 1951, where she worked for Sears until her retirement. Mildred loved the water and enjoyed many years of boating on Lake George and cruising to the Caribbean. She also loved to ball room dance and play bingo.
In addition to her husband, Pete, she was predeceased by her son, Donald, of Hermitage, Tennessee.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Alison of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire and Robert and Susan of Billerica, Massachusetts; two grandsons and their wives, Christopher and Kylie of Beverly, Massachusetts and Matthew and Rochelle of Bethel, Vermont; two granddaughters, Lindsey of Portland, Maine and Katherine of Billerica, Massachusetts; a great granddaughter, Genevieve, of Bethel, Vermont; and a daughter-in-law, Carol of Hermitage, Tennessee.
She will be greatly missed and remembered fondly for her quiet love and caring of family and friends.
A private burial will take place in Mint Hill, North Carolina, where her love of 61 years lays waiting for her to join him.
