

She was born on March 15, 1947, to the late David Philip and Bessie Long.
Formerly of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jean attended East Mecklenburg High School where she graduated in 1965. From there she attended Plaza Beauty School and worked as a hairdresser for over 30 years. She also owned and operated her own business as a talented seamstress where she custom-made draperies. Jean had many hobbies and enjoyments in her life including bowling, baking, and days by the lake. She also enjoyed traveling and loved going on cruises. More importantly, Jean loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed in her younger days the many skiing trips she made with them.
Along with her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Frodge; children, Scott Lemmond and Rhonda Watson; grandchild, Robert Wensil; and sister, Patricia McCarver. She is survived by her son, Chad Lemmond (Kathy) of Norwood, North Carolina; granddaughter, Jatana Moss (Robbie) of Indian Trail, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Evan Moss and Jacob Moss, both of Indian Trail, North Carolina; and siblings, Brenda Hager (Pete) of Denver, North Carolina, David Philip Long, Jr. (Judith) of Germanton, North Carolina, and Kim Long of Charlotte, North Carolina.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, located at 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, North Carolina. A service to celebrate Jean’s life will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm with burial immediately following the service at Sunset Memory Gardens.
