Pastor Minervino Labrador Sr., 86, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2023 surrounded by family. He was born December 31, 1936, to Dionicio Labrador and Rosa Cruz in Pinar del Rio, Cuba.
In 1954 he met the love of his life, Eva Sosa, while working at the Pan-American Hotel and Resort. Minervino and Eva went on to have four children, Loida Rojas, Eunice Williams, Minervino Labrador Jr., and Daniel Labrador.
Minervino was a man who loved God deeply and dedicated his life in service to others. Because of this, instead of calling him ‘Pastor,’ many people referred to him as ‘Pipo,’ a Cuban term of endearment for father.
While he successfully developed several businesses, ministry was his priority. His joy was visiting, counseling, mentoring, and helping others draw closer to God. The impact of his life will last for many years to come.
Minervino was predeceased by his parents, Dionicio and Rosa Labrador; and his dear wife of 57 years, Eva Sosa de Labrador.
He is survived by his children, Loida Rojas (Eli), Eunice Williams (Scott), Minervino Labrador Jr. (Evelyn), and Daniel Labrador (Margarita); his grandchildren, Jahnil Ancheta (Andres), Efrain Murillo (Katherine), Minervino A. Labrador III, Eli Rojas Jr, Nico Labrador (Amanda), Eileen Williams (Joseph), Jasmine Gibson (Joshua), Mario Labrador (Cambria), Kayla Labrador, and Sabrina Labrador; and his great-grandchildren, Kylee Ancheta, Lexie Ancheta, Noah Murillo, Ziya Gibson, Lucas Labrador, Levi Labrador, Lyla Labrador, and Nora Labrador; his brothers and sisters, Carmen Labrador, Dionicio Labrador, Clara Labrador, Eugenio Labrador, Humberto Labrador, Silvia Labrador, Joel Labrador, and Orlando Labrador.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día Central de Charlotte, 4620 E W.T. Harris Blvd, Charlotte NC. A visitation will be held prior from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A Graveside Service will be held at 9:30 am on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum, 8910 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC.
