Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Christine Mullins; her sister, Sandra McKenzie; her brother, Tommy Mullins; and her son, Butch Hampton.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry A. Hampton; and five of her children, Velvet (Jeff) Mills, James (Darcel) Mullins, Tiffany (Jeff) Reid, Tim (Cherie) Hampton, and Michael (Alana) Mullins. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Marie retired from First Union Bank and went on to work at KCI for many years. She was a huge animal lover and always had pets. She accomplished her dream of retiring at the beach with her husband Larry.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Monday, July 19, 2021, at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, NC, with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Charlotte.
