Born on March 16, 1971, to the late Norris E. Short and Judith M. Short, Norris grew up in Mint Hill, North Carolina, and was a proud graduate of Independence High School. He later made his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he built a life filled with friendship, faith, and the simple joys he cherished most.
Norris was known for his social nature and his deep love for the people around him. He adored his family, treasured his friendships, and had a lifelong affection for animals. His little dog, Buddy, was his constant companion and a source of daily happiness.
A veteran of the United States Navy, Norris served his country with honor. His faith was an important part of his life, and he was a devoted member of Garden City Baptist Church, where he found community and purpose.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 27, 2025 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Road Mint Hill, North Carolina 28227. A graveside service will immediately follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road Mint Hill, North Carolina, 28227.
