Rachel Louise Griffin

Born January 22, 1932 in Mecklenburg County, NC, Rachel was a daughter of the late Lewis Wilson Lee and Margaret Hall Lee. She was a homemaker and loved caring for her home and family. She enjoyed sewing, square dancing and traveling, and was a lifelong member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her brother, Ranson Lee.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 65 years, Henry “Hoyt” Griffin; son, Mike Griffin; daughter, Brenda McManus and husband, Joe; sister, Nancy Connell; five grandchildren, Christy Nelson, Robin Cottingham, Brian McManus, Jeremy Griffin and Jessica Crawley; and five great-grandchildren, Ashley and Summer Nelson, Austin Griffin, and Emma and Erin Crawley.Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Rusty Benton officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family wishes to expresses their most sincere appreciation to all the caregivers at Carrington Place for the dedicated and compassionate love and attention shown to their family during the past two years.
