Reece Lee Moore

Reece Lee Moore, 85, of Matthews, passed away peacefully to join his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 29, 2012. He is survived by his two daughters, Joyce and Karen Moore, as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife Carolyn, his parents, his siblings and his cat, Smoke.

Reece was a proud Marshville native who loved gardening. Most importantly, he loved his “Merry” tiller and giving produce away. He also enjoyed talking. His love of talking led him to an outstanding career as a salesman. Reece won several international trips, including he and Carolyn’s favorite, a trip to China. He worked at Associated Distributing Piedmont Home Products and served as Vice President at Southern Bearings and Parts.

Reece was also a wonderful listener and an unusually caring and helpful husband, father, friend and Christian. He served as a Sunday school teacher and as a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Matthews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 2:00 to 3:00pm at McEwen at Sharon Memorial Park. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm in the chapel.
