

Mr. Duckett, 61, of Mint Hill, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital, Matthews following a brief illness.
His family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road. A funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 7, in the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Born June 30, 1949 in Charlotte, NC, Mr. Duckett was a son of the late Thomas Brock Duckett, Sr. and Nancy Knapp Duckett. He attended Campbell University. From 1971 until 1973, Mr. Duckett served in the U.S. Navy onboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was president and co-owner of Intermodal Services, Inc. and R.T.X. Logistics. Mr. Duckett was committed to physical fitness. He was a very loyal son and a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Bonnie Jean Duckett; son, Richard Nathan Duckett of Charlotte; step-son, David Viscusie and wife, Mershon, of Rock Hill, SC; two brothers, Roger Duckett and wife, Trisha, of Raleigh and Tommy Duckett and wife, Beth, of Fort Mill, SC; two sisters, Marcia Bennett of Clayton and Nancy Reavis and husband, Sam, of Waxhaw; and three grandchildren, Jessica, Nicolas and Owen Viscusie.
