Richard Marx

Richard Howard Marx, of Charlotte, NC, was born in Richmond, Virginia on June 27, 1936. Richard passed away on February 13, 2011 from pneumonia. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Ann, his beloved grandson, Thomas Marx, parents, Howard and Doris Marx, and his brother Bob Marx. Richard will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be truly missed by all of his children and grandchildren.

Richard was a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia, School of Pharmacy, in Richmond. He began his career with Patterson’s Drug Store in Roanoke, Virginia and retired from CVS Pharmacy in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Surviving are his daughter, Pamela Mallard and husband Mike, son, Richard Marx, Jr, and wife, Koreen, daughter, Sandra Bryan and husband, Jan, son, Jeffery Marx and wife, Amina, His grandchildren are Brandon Mallard, Lauren Mallard, Elizabeth Marx, Dylan Bryan, Trevor Bryan, Jake Bryan, Summer Bryan, and Tyler Marx.

A Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Charlotte, NC 29227 at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2011, with The Rev. Dr. Lawrence Childs and The Rev. Wanda Childs-Ellis officiating.

McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel is assisting the family with all the arrangements.
