It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Andrew Sauter announces his passing after a brief illness, on Monday, December 4, 2017, at the age of 83 years. Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Patricia and his children, Rich (Joanne), Rhonda (Bill) Brown, and Laura (Eric) Stein. Richard will also be fondly remembered by his three grandsons, Ambrose, Scott and Jack, and by his siblings, Dorothy Gerrity, Gregory (Peg), Harry (Millie) Coyle, Tina Rodgers, Florence Dorn and John Goffredo.
A native New Yorker, Richard owned an auto-body repair business for many years on Long Island, retiring in 2005. In 2007, he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where he spent much of his time volunteering in the Matthews Help Center, playing cards and being silly with his grandchildren. His smile lit up a room and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 8th at 1:30pm (visitation begins at 1pm)
