Robert Allen Bumbulucz

Robert Allen Bumbulucz, age 75, of Matthews, NC passed away on April 15, 2016. He was born in Sharon, PA on June 27, 1940. Bob graduated from Patterson Co-op High School in Dayton, Ohio in 1957. He was married to Carol Ann Schaefer on June 1, 1963. Bob served 4 years in the Navy aboard the USS Finch DER-328. He then had a career for 32 years working for the Air Force as a civil servant in printing, graphics, and photography, primarily at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

Bob was very involved in his children’s activities while they were young. Throughout his adult life, he was engaged in church and community activities, including extensive leadership and volunteer work. He was a member of Morning Star Lutheran Church and had a passion for traveling, exploring history, painting, and woodworking projects, such as building birdhouses with his grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Evelyn Bumbulucz and his sister Janice Young, all of Dayton, Ohio. He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 52 years, Carol, three loving and wonderful children Susan Bumbulucz and husband Dan Cooper, Sharon Kanelos and husband Dino, and Don Bumbulucz and wife Lisa and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He has seven beautiful grandchildren: Mackenzie and Collin Cooper, Melina, Lucas, and Ariana Kanelos, and Anya and Lilla Bumbulucz.

Funeral services will be held at Morning Star Lutheran Church in Matthews, NC on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 11 am with visitation preceding the service from 10-11 am. Memorials may be made to Morning Star Lutheran Church, Hospice & Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, or the Carolinas Neuromuscular/ALS-MDA Center.
