Sue Russell Belk

Sue Russell Belk, age 88, woke up in the loving arms of Jesus on February 15, 2025. She was born on April 21, 1936 to Fred and Pallie Russell in Aquadale, NC. Sue is leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness and touched the lives of everyone who met her with her big beautiful smile exhibiting gentle strength and exceedingly grace.

Our cherished Momma and Nana leaves behind to celebrate her life her best friend and daughter Debbie (Steve) Divine; her treasured grandchildren Jessica (Adam) Harrison and Christy (David) Cochran; her precious great grandchildren Kaylee, Anniston, Noa Grace, Shiloh, Caleb and Justus Harrison and Kasen, Asher, and Titus Cochran. She is also survived by her baby brother, Frederick Russell, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Sue was preceded in death by both parents and her husband of 60 years, Bobby Huntley Belk, a sister and 3 brothers.

Sue received a Business Degree from King’s College, Charlotte, NC. She continued to work throughout her career as an Administrative Assistant and retired from Duke Energy, Charlotte, NC at the age of 65. Sue also played the piano for her childhood church, Silver Springs in Aquadale, NC. She was a Sunday School teacher and taught bible training at her home church, Wilson Grove Baptist. She loved the “Craft ladies” and her “Lunch Bunch” and had many friends due to her loving and calm nature.

A service to celebrate her valued life will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Wilson Grove Baptist Church, Mint Hill, NC at 11:00 am. All friends and family are invited to celebrate with us the life of Sue who was a cherished gift to us all.
