Susan Hunter Croxton

Susan, a lifelong resident of Charlotte, NC, had relocated about a year ago to Meadows of Dan, VA. She was a an employee of Bellsouth until her retirement in 2000. After retirement, Susan and John were able to enjoy traveling the country, she was especially fond of mountains and the winter landscapes. She enjoyed snowmobiling in Canada, Yellowstone, Colorado, and Jackson Hole, WY. Susan was known for her kindness and sweet nature, especially her great hugs. If she cared enough to hug you, you really knew you were loved and cherished. Her kindness carried over to all the animals she met and especially the dogs she's had over the years. Mandy, Vonnie, Zonker, and Chloe were more than pets, they were cherished friends.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Allen Estridge; and her older brother, Joseph "Joey" Hunter Jr.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Croxton; her brother, David Hunter (Betty); and many loving nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Susan will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at McEwen - Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227. A Celebration of Life will follow at 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 23, 2022. A reception will follow the service.
