Vernon Ray Redwine

Vernon Ray Redwine, 82, of Mint Hill, passed away at home on July 21, 2013 surrounded by his family. Vernon was born on October 17, 1930 in Kannapolis, NC to the late Charlie and Annie Redwine. He graduated from Concord High and then joined the US Navy serving in the Korean War. Vernon married Azilee Turbeville on April 27, 1957 in Charlotte. He spent his career with PET Dairy and was a member of Mint Hill Baptist Church.

Vernon was predeceased by his son, David Ray Redwine, brother, Crowell Lee Redwine and two sisters, Irene R. Marcum and Bertha R. Moore.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Azilee T. Redwine, his daughter, Shari Redwine (Reggie) Pope, grandchildren; Meaghan Nichole and Breanna Kristine Fowler, and Chase Barron Ray Pope, step grandchildren, Trey Barron, Dallas Clay and Lynsey Lee Brooke Pope, as well as three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Mint Hill Baptist Church 7835 Matthews Mint Hill Rd charlotte, NC 28227 with funeral services following at one o’clock.
