William "Bill" Brown Lee

He was the beloved father of Jeanne Anne Powers and the late, Jack Dale Lee.

He was married to the late, Vera Correll Lee, who he was devoted to for 49 years.

Bill was a Navy veteran, serving during World War II as part of the Pearl Harbor attack response and recovery team. He had a life long career with "Asplundh Tree Company", climbing trees until he retired.

A lifelong member of Grace Crossing Baptist Church of Charlotte; Bill touched everyone he met with his kind disposition and embodied what it means to be a Christian.

"PawPaw Bill" was adored by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, loved animals, feeding all the stray animals that wandered into his yard. You would never see Bill without a smile and he always had a kind word to say about everyone.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Jeanne Anne Powers, stepson, Randall B. Knight, granddaughters; Emily (Jeffrey) Knight and Casey Knight, great-granddaughters; Everlee Junker and Kyndall Knight, aunts; Julia Lee Shipman and Bessie Lee Heath, cousins; Ada S. Crane, Darlene S. Gillespie, William Shipman and Tommy Shipman.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 11:00am at Sunset Memory Gardens 8901 Lawyers Road Mint Hill, North Carolina with Pastor Jason Blanton officiating.
