Born on October 2, 1942, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bill proudly served in the United States Navy. He moved to Charlotte in 1983, where he went on to build a successful business as the owner of Southern Cast Foundry.
He and the love of his life, Cheryl, were married for 44 years and made their home in Mint Hill, NC. He was a proud father, grandfather to seven grandchildren and great grandfather to six great grandchildren. His warmth, strength, and example will carry forward for generations to come.
He spent many weekends at his beach house—often accompanied by his beloved dogs, Charlie and Max. But above all, family was everything to Bill. His greatest happiness came from time spent with his loved ones, whether that meant a quiet morning coffee with Cheryl or a full house during the holidays.
Bill found joy and camaraderie at Pine Lake Country Club, where he was a member for over 40 years and a familiar face. Whether he was enjoying a round of golf or swapping stories in the lounge, Bill was a proud supporter of the club and its community.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, sons, Bill Jr. (wife, Tammy) and Dave (wife, Kammy) and daughter, Tracy.
A memorial gathering for Bill will be held Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Pine Lake Country Club, 5504 Lebanon Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the charity of one's choice in honor of Bill.
McEwen Mint Hill Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
