Annie was born in Thomasville, Alabama and raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. After graduation she worked for South Central Bell, retiring after 20 plus years. She then moved to Chattanooga where she was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church and a self-employed entrepreneur and a managing partner at the first ever Days Inn Franchisee in the US, located in Ringgold, GA. After her working career, she devoted herself to her faith in Jesus, grand-children and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wesley O’Brien; parents, Brigham and Margaret Knight; brother, Cecil Brigham Knight; and sister, Evelyn Louise Dupree.
Surviving are her daughter, Lou Ann (Randy) Wittman; grandchildren, Christina Wittman (Zachary) Hydas and Cooper Scott (Haylee) Wittman; and grandchildren, Annie Kate, Blair, Baylor, Shepherd and McCoy.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 PM on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will follow at 5 PM with Rev. Tony Walliser officiating.
A private entombment will follow at a later date.
