She was the daughter of the late Jack and Edna Smith and was preceded in death by three sons, John Swanson, Jr., Thomas Earl Swanson, Desmond Fryane Swanson and several siblings.
She was a member of Apison Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, best friend and loyal companion of 55 years, John F. Swanson, of Apison, TN., three children, Deborah and her husband Tabb Thornbrough, of Ringgold, GA., Carol Neumann, of Cartersville, GA., Terence Swanson, of Apison, TN., three grandchildren, Jeremiah Wilson, Justin Neumann, Jacob Swanson, great grandson, Cody Wilson and several siblings, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday at Plowman Cemetery in Apison, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
