Ed was a veteran of the United States Air Force and received his bachelor’s degree from Carson Newman College. He later graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. He practiced medicine for many years in Ft. Myers, Florida.
He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his three daughters, Beth Hewitt, of Ft. Myers, FL, Kathy Moore, of Murfreesboro, TN, Rebecca Smith, of Dallas, TX, eight grandchildren, two sisters, Sarah Brown, of Phoenix, AZ, Ann Davis, of Ooltewah, TN, Tom Williams, of Lookout Mountain, TN, a special friend, Jean Luton, of McDonald, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
