She was preceded in death by her father, Hiram Nutt and sister, Florence Thorpe.
Elsie was a teacher and retired as librarian with Ringgold Middle School in Catoosa County, Georgia. She was president of the Chattanooga Doll Club.
She was a member of Standifer Gap Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mario DeLeon, of Collegedale, TN, two daughters and sons –in-law, Serena DeLeon-Garvin and Richard Garvin, of Murfreesboro, TN, Stephanie DeLeon and Tim Myers, of Columbia, MO, six grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael, Korena, Lareisa, Alex, Melina, mother, Neva Nutt, brother, Bill Nutt, sister, Mary Maxey, all of Cleburne, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Wiseman officiating. Interment will follow in Standifer Gap Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
